An inflation rate of 2.1% is expected, compared to 2.3% in the previous month (on a monthly basis).

The development of the US gross domestic product is also likely to attract interest (14:30). Economists expect a growth rate of 2.8 percent for the second quarter (compared to the previous quarter), compared to 1.4 percent recently.

At the same time, initial claims for US unemployment benefits are also published, which are particularly in focus after the latest US labor market data at the beginning of the month.

Last but not least, Fed representative Bostic will have his say in the evening (21:30).

EU inflation could ease further - outcome of NVIDIA's quarterly figures could decide the weal and woe

On Friday, the focus in Germany will initially be on the development of retail sales (08:00) and German labor market data (09:55).

The core rate of EU inflation will be in focus at 11:00. Economists expect an increase of 2.8% for the month of August, following 2.9% in the previous month (compared to the same month last year).

One of the highlights of the week will undoubtedly be the publication of the core rate of the so-called PCE deflator for personal consumption expenditure (14:30). This figure is also seen as an important indicator of future inflation trends.

The Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index (16:00) should also provide important impetus.

However, the outcome of NVIDIA's quarterly figures today, Wednesday, after the US stock market closes, could decide the weal and woe of the current stock market week. Since the expectations are considered to be extraordinarily high, the potential for disappointment is also likely to be high. The recent stock market rally is partly due to the AI hype. The tech heavyweight should therefore also attract a lot of attention in this country.

Investors are also focusing on the quarterly figures of AI chip manufacturer NVIDIA here in Germany.
