It is also important to keep an eye on speeches by various Fed representatives.<\/p>\n<p>\"Monetary policy must remain tight until I see that we are making real progress on inflation,\" said Mary Daly from the San Francisco branch of the Federal Reserve at a banking conference in Arizona on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Wednesday, Philip Jefferson (Fed Vice Chairman) will once again be an important voice (16:00).\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>German producer prices in focus on Thursday - purchasing managers on both sides of the Atlantic round off the trading week<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>German producer prices will be published on Thursday at 08:00. Investors expect this to provide important indications of inflation.<\/p>\n<p>In January, consumer prices including the drivers energy and food (on a year-on-year basis) were 2.3% and thus below the December figure (2.6%).<\/p>\n<p>The weekly initial claims for US unemployment benefits (14:30) could also attract interest.<\/p>\n<p>Purchasing managers on both sides of the Atlantic will be in investors' sights on Friday. In Germany, the indices (S&amp;P Global) for the manufacturing, services and total sectors will be published first at 09:30. The counterparts for the eurozone will follow at 10:00 and those for the USA at 15:45.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>CDU\/CSU still in the lead according to Forsa poll - questions about government formation remain<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>According to a recent Forsa survey, the CDU\/CSU currently leads the Sunday poll for the Bundestag elections with 30%, followed by the AfD (20%), the SPD (16%), the Greens (13%), the Left (7%) and the FDP (5.0%). The Sarah Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) is just below the 5% threshold with 4%.<br \/>It will be particularly interesting for the markets to see how quickly a government is actually formed next week.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>MTU Aero Engines shines - Mercedes Benz in focus on Thursday<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>MTU Aero Engines' figures were already on the agenda today in the current reporting season. A billion-euro profit was generated in the operating business for the first time. Adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) rose by 28 percent to 1.05 billion euros in 2024.
