Whether a deal between the United States and the eurozone will be reached by August 1 is probably another matter. US President Donald Trump recently extended the deadline for a possible deal until the aforementioned date.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Purchasing managers on both sides of the Atlantic and ECB key interest rate decision on Thursday in view<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The purchasing managers (HCOB) for the manufacturing industry, the service sector and the overall index are expected at 09:30. The counterparts for the eurozone will follow at 10:00.<\/p>\n<p>The ECB's key interest rate decision is expected at 14:15. ECB President Christine Lagarde is expected to address the public from 14:45. Investors are hoping for monetary policy stimuli in this context.<br \/>However, it remains to be seen whether the ECB will turn the interest rate screws down again, as it did in June. The deposit rate currently stands at 2.0 percent. In total, the ECB has cut interest rates four times since the beginning of the year.<\/p>\n<p>In the afternoon (15:45), the purchasing managers (S&amp;P Global) for the services and manufacturing sectors will round off the day.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>ifo index and new orders for durable goods in the USA round off the trading week<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Friday is likely to be dominated by the publication of the ifo Business Climate Index (10:00 a.m.).<\/p>\n<p>In addition, new orders for durable goods in the US will be published (14:30). As these goods are generally associated with higher spending, they can provide important indications of activity in the US economy.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Excitement ahead of Alphabet and Tesla release - Intel in focus on Thursday<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In the US reporting season, investors are looking today at the figures for the past quarter from Alphabet A (ISIN: US02079K3059) and Tesla (ISIN: US88160R1014). Intel (ISIN: US4581401001) will report on Thursday.
