The war in Ukraine is to be discussed. There is also speculation about a possible ceasefire agreement between Ukraine and Russia. According to Trump, it is possible that the summit will fail.<br \/>In view of the high expectations in advance, investors should be prepared for corresponding price fluctuations after the results are announced.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>US inflation lower than expected - core rate of inflation picks up slightly<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>According to the latest figures, price pressure in the largest economy was 2.80 percent (compared to the same month last year) and therefore slightly lower than economists had expected in advance (2.90 percent). The CME Group's \"Fed Watch Tool\" currently estimates the chance of a rate cut of 25 basis points at the upcoming meeting on September 17, 2025 at 92.6%.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>EU GDP grows slightly - US producer prices significantly stronger than expected<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Gross domestic product for the eurozone rose by 0.2% in the second quarter compared to the previous quarter, which was as high as expected.<\/p>\n<p>Producer prices (excluding energy and food) are likely to have caused a disappointment in terms of US interest rate reduction fantasies on Thursday afternoon, which at 3.70 percent were significantly higher than expected (2.90 percent) compared to 2.60 percent in the previous month.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>US retail sales and consumer confidence round off the trading week<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>At the end of the week, investors in the USA will be looking ahead to retail sales (14:30) and preliminary consumer sentiment data (University of Michigan) at 16:00.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>E.ON confirms its forecasts<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In the current reporting season, the figures from E.ON (ISIN: DE000ENAG999) caused a stir in Germany on Wednesday. Following growth in the first half of the year, the energy group was able to confirm its forecasts. Ebitda (adjusted) rose by 13 percent to 5.5 billion euros, it said. The electricity grid business once again stood out as the biggest profit generator.
