While revenues were able to exceed expectations—and overall losses were also lower—the losses in two of the three business divisions evidently alienated some investors. After the US stock market closed, the SpaceX share price had dropped by approximately 8 percent. Elon Musk's statements are also likely to have caused a stir.

SpaceX increases its revenue and profit in the second fiscal quarter

In the second fiscal quarter ending in June, SpaceX increased its revenue by 92 percent year-over-year to $7.81 billion, thereby almost halving its net loss (from $1.0 billion to $541 million). Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) increased by 191 percent from $1.2 to $3.5 billion.

For comparison: In 2025, revenue in the „Space“ division was 4.1 billion dollars, which corresponded to 22 percent of group revenue. The operating result was -657 million dollars. In the „Connectivity“ sector, revenue stood at 11.4 billion dollars (a 60 percent share of group revenue) and the operating result was +4.4 billion dollars.

The „AI“ segment reported the lowest revenue at $3.2 billion (17 percent of group revenue), and the operating loss was $6.4 billion.

SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies Corp)

SpaceX looks ahead with optimism – SpaceX stock still declines

“We closed the second quarter with $100 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities, as well as a backlog of $47.5 billion,“ said Bret Johnsen, Chief Financial Officer of SpaceX. „This financial strength gives us significant leeway to invest in Starship, Starlink satellites for broadband and cellular services, and our AI platform, while simultaneously maintaining a disciplined framework for long-term capital allocation.“

Starlink as a revenue driver – Hopes pinned on Starship

In the "Starlink" division, revenue in the past quarter climbed by around two-thirds year-over-year to approximately 4.3 billion dollars. The number of customers climbed from 10.3 to 12 million.

According to Gwynne Shotwell, a top operations executive, satellites could be used, among other things, to cover current areas without mobile internet, it was stated. In addition, Musk noted that the current Falcon 9 rocket transports approximately 2,500 metric tons of payload into space per year.
