Among other things, there is also the possibility of using a specific trading approach such as a Dividend strategy to track.

What is a dividend fund?

A Dividend funds is an equity fund that invests specifically in stocks with a relatively high dividend yield. Private investors can use dividend funds to pursue a dividend strategy without selecting individual stocks themselves (stock picking), thereby ensuring broad diversification or risk spreading.

Besides actively managed dividend funds in the recent past have also been numerous passive dividend funds (dividend ETFs) were launched.

The advantages of dividend funds

A dividend fund combines the advantages of a dividend strategy with the advantages of an investment in an (active or passive) equity fund.

Long-term asset accumulation with dividend shares

In addition to price increases, the long-term return on an equity investment consists to a significant extent (approx. one third to one quarter) of dividend distributions.

In the long term, dividends make up a significant part of the overall performance of an equity investment. Blue = DAX price index (without dividends), black = DAX performance index (incl. dividends)

Dividend stocks - i.e., stocks that pay high dividends on a regular basis and ideally increase them on a regular basis - are particularly attractive in the case of conservative investors popular, as they are mostly long-term profitable companies with a high market capitalization and a crisis-proof business model. In addition, dividend stocks tend to be less volatile, which is why dividend funds are also less volatile than the overall market.

Broad diversification

Compared to the mapping of a dividend strategy with direct investments in individual shares, dividend funds offer the advantage that with one investment, investments are automatically made in a large number of different shares, and that Price fluctuations of a single share have a less significant impact on the entire portfolio.

For whom are dividend funds suitable?

Due to the characteristics of dividend funds discussed in the previous sections, they are well suited for the long-term oriented private investors with a conservative trading approachwho does not want to actively search for suitable shares themselves. On the other hand, other investment or trading strategies may be more suitable for more risk-averse and more growth-oriented investors or traders.

Of course, a dividend fund can also be used as a Admixture in a securities account. For example, part of the assets can be invested in a dividend fund, another part in a somewhat more active or risk-tolerant trading approach, etc.

Accumulating funds vs distributing funds

Those who want to rely on a regular cash flow can choose a dividend fund that provides regular income distributes. Investors who wish to benefit from compound interest can invest in accumulating Dividend funds (where dividends are reinvested directly). Both actively managed and passive dividend funds (ETFs) include reinvesting and distributing funds.

Actively managed funds vs ETFs

Equity funds offer investors the opportunity to invest in a broadly diversified manner. In the case of an actively managed fund, the fund manager makes the decision as to which securities are included in the portfolio. In the case of actively managed dividend fundsThe strategy is to invest only in high-dividend stocks.

In contrast to an actively managed equity fund, an ETF passively track an index (such as the Dax or the S&P 500), which can massively reduce costs and fees. Since exchange-traded funds (ETFs) were first approved for private investors in the 1990s, they have become increasingly popular. Particularly since the 2000s, ETFs have also been used more and more frequently by private investors in this country, and numerous ETFs have emerged that can be used to invest in specific countries and regions or to pursue specific investment strategies.

To create a Dividend strategy There are numerous active dividend funds as well as dividend ETFs to choose from.

One of the most famous actively managed dividend funds from Germany, for example, is the "DWS Top Dividende" fund. The fund managers invest worldwide in highly capitalized stocks with an above-average dividend yield.

A very well known Dividend ETF for the American market is the SPDR S&P Dividend ETF (symbol SDY). This tracks the S&P High Yield Dividend Aristocrats Index and invests in companies of the S&P Composite 1500 that have increased their dividend for at least 25 consecutive years.

Popular dividend funds at a glance

Below is a listing of some well-known dividend funds:

Actively managed dividend funds

DWS Top Dividend

Invesco Global Equity Income Fund

BL - Equities Dividend A

JPM Global Income A

Deutsche Invest I Top Dividend LC

Dividend ETFs

Ishares Stoxx Global Select Dividend 100

Vanguard FTSE All-World High Dividend Yield Ucits

SPDR S&P Dividend ETF

SPDR S&P Global Dividend Aristocrats Ucits

SPDR S&P US Dividend Aristocrats

["post-45268","glossar","type-glossar","status-publish","hentry
["GET
