The Sydney-based Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) is one of the 20 largest stock exchanges in the world (measured by the market capitalization of all listed companies). In addition to the S&amp;P\/ASX All Ordinaries Index (abbreviated AOI or \"All Ords\"), which includes all companies listed on the Australian stock exchange, the S&amp;P\/ASX 50 and the S&amp;P\/ASX 200 are Australia's best-known stock indices. The country's dominant sectors include energy and finance in particular, but there are also many other interesting industries and investment opportunities to be found. Founded in 1924, the company operates over 1,000 supermarkets and grocery stores throughout Australia and in New Zealand. In addition, the Woolworths Group operates more than 300 hotels and provides various leisure, entertainment and gaming services. With a current market capitalization of about A$42 billion, or about $31 billion, Woolworths is the largest company in the retail industry. The stock was in a long-term uptrend between 2016 and 2021. Dusk is a retail company specializing in fragrance products, diffusers, air purifiers, candles and oils. Dusk also offers essential oils and plant therapy kits, as well as many different home accessories. Treasury Wine Estates is a Melbourne-based wine producer and is one of the largest wine merchants in the world. Founded in 1843, the company owns more than 8,000 hectares of planted vineyards in Australia and several hundred more in New Zealand, the USA and Italy. Treasury Wine Estates' well-known brands include Penfolds, Beringer, Lindeman's, Wolf Blass, 19 Crimes and Chateau St Jean. A look at the share chart shows that the last two years have not brought big profits for investors, which is not surprising given the large number of closed restaurants worldwide. With a market capitalization of approximately AUD 78 billion or USD 57 billion and an index weighting in the ASX 50 of approximately 7.5 %, the Sydney-based company remains an industry heavyweight and one of Australia's leading banks. Westpac Banking's share price fell significantly at the end of 2021, due in particular to the release of its annual results. In it, a weaker-than-expected profit margin outlook was announced, particularly due to increased competition in construction loans, as well as doubts about the company's cost-cutting plans.
