For investors, the French stock market offers a diverse range of shares, including numerous globally renowned major corporations. The top 40 public companies on the Paris Stock Exchange are listed on the benchmark CAC 40 index, which declined by approximately 20 % in the first half of 2022 (at the time of writing this article) as a result of the global stock market correction. In this article, we present a small selection of interesting French stocks.

By the way: Shares from France are available at CapTrader directly on the Paris Stock Exchange from 4.00 EUR Order fee tradable.

Sanofi

Company: Sanofi SA

Symbol (TWS): SAN

ISIN: FR0000120578

Stock Exchange: Paris Stock Exchange

Country: France

Currency: Euro (EUR)

Market capitalization: EUR 125.29 billion / USD 126.30 billion

Sales (TTM) in USD: 40.34 billion

Sanofi is a Paris-based pharmaceutical group with a broad range of drugs. Most recently, the company has made headlines for its promising diabetes drugs. Approximately 500 million people worldwide suffer from diabetes, which is why pharmaceutical companies that manufacture and sell drugs for diabetes have been highly sought after by investors for some time. Sanofi is one of the leading companies in the industry, but competition is becoming increasingly fierce. Danone is headquartered in Paris, but was originally founded in Barcelona. The company, founded in 1924 and headquartered in Courbevoie near Paris, is not only one of the largest oil companies in the world, but also one of the largest companies in the world with a turnover of over 200 million USD. TotalEnergies shares are in a stable uptrend at the beginning of July, but compared to other companies in the oil industry, they have not been able to benefit to the same extent from the recent sharp rise in commodity prices. The main reason for this is the company's exposure to Russia, including its interests in Novatek and the Yamal project. There are fears that TotalEnergies will have to divest these holdings due to sanctions. Nevertheless, TotalEnergies appears well positioned for the coming years. In addition to the oil business, the company is strongly active in the renewable energy sector, as well as in natural gas, which is considered an energy source for the transition.

L'Oréal

Company: L'Oreal SA

Symbol (TWS): OR

ISIN: FR0000120321

Stock Exchange: Paris Stock Exchange

Country: France

Currency: Euro (EUR)

Market capitalization: EUR 182.55 billion / USD 184.02 billion

Sales (TTM) in USD: 32.29 billion

Another heavyweight with a high index weighting in the CAC 40 is the consumer goods group L'Oréal. The company is the largest cosmetics manufacturer in the world and has a market value of around 180 billion euros. L'Oreal benefits from its good reputation as a brand, its high-quality cosmetics products, its expanding e-commerce business and its strong presence in Asia. The company should gain further market share and increase sales and earnings in the coming years. Analysts also expect further dividend increases and share buybacks.

Orange

Company: Orange SA

Symbol (TWS): ORA

ISIN: FR0000133308

Stock Exchange: Paris Stock Exchange

Country: France

Currency: Euro (EUR)

Market capitalization: EUR 28.1 billion / USD 28.32 billion

Sales (TTM) in USD: 42.52 billion

Orange is a French multinational telecommunications service provider offering a range of mobile, Internet, telecommunications, fixed-line and data transmission services.
