TWS always displays a currency pair in the quantity quotation. For example, the indication means <strong>EUR.USD<\/strong>&nbsp;in the description column of the platform that&nbsp;<strong>in the case of a sell order,<\/strong>&nbsp;the amount of order corresponding to the order size&nbsp;<strong>Euro is sold<\/strong>. Against this&nbsp;<strong>the trader receives US dollars in exchange.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On this page you will find our instructions on how to reduce your negative foreign currency holdings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>in the Trader Workstation TWS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and with an attached FX order<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">or prevent them from arising in the first place (FX order).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">EXCHANGE FOREIGN CURRENCIES AUTOMATICALLY (TWS)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To automatically convert a foreign currency position to your base currency, please first log into your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.captrader.com\/en\/platforms\/trader-workstation-tws\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trader Workstation TWS<\/a> on. The debit interest charge can be terminated by a currency adjustment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To exchange a foreign currency into your base currency, select the foreign currency (in the example here: USD) with a &gt; right click and click on&nbsp;<strong>&gt; Close foreign exchange position<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With this action you start a currency trade. This way you can avoid debit interest for borrowed foreign currencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Place your securities order in TWS as usual. The number (number of shares) is determined by the system after the purchase of shares depending on the valid at that time&nbsp;<strong>Exchange rate&nbsp;<\/strong>between both currencies&nbsp;<strong>Automatically selected<\/strong>. You can still adjust the order duration of the FX order. Apart from that, only both orders have to be transmitted (main order and attached FX order).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The FX order is a sell in our example, since Euros must be sold to receive US dollars (for the purchase of the US share Apple).
