As the U.S. Department of Labor reported on Wednesday afternoon, consumer prices rose by 3.7 percent in September compared to the same month last year, which was higher than expected (3.6 percent), after 3.4 percent in August. The core rate of inflation, which excludes the drivers of energy and food prices, also rose by 0.1 percentage point to 2.6 percent. The recently easing concerns about interest rates could thus have gained momentum again.<\/p>\n

US producer prices are expected to send out monetary policy impulses \u2013 retail data also in focus<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Investors will also face US price data today. US producer prices are expected at 14:30, which are expected to provide important inflation signals. Compared to the previous month, economists expect a rise of 0.5 percent, after 0.4 percent last month.<\/p>\n
