Information on the manner in which sustainability risks are included (Art. 6 Disclosure Regulation)
In accordance with Art. 6 (1) and (2) Disclosure Regulation, we are obliged to provide the following information:
As a company, we want to make a contribution to a more sustainable, resource-efficient economy with the aim of reducing the risks and effects of climate change in particular. In addition to observing sustainability goals in our corporate organization itself, we also see it as our task to raise our customers' awareness of sustainability aspects in the way they structure their business relationships with us.
Environmental conditions, social upheaval and/or poor corporate governance can have a negative impact on the value of our clients' investments and assets in a number of ways. These so-called sustainability risks can have a direct impact on the asset, financial and earnings situation and also on the reputation of the investment properties. As such risks cannot ultimately be completely ruled out, we have developed specific strategies for the investment services we offer in order to identify and limit sustainability risks.
In order to limit sustainability risks, we try to identify and, where possible, exclude investments in companies that have an increased risk potential. Specific exclusion criteria enable us to base investment decisions or recommendations on environmental, social or company-related values. To this end, we generally use valuation methods that are recognized in the market.
One way of identifying suitable investments is to invest in or recommend investment funds whose investment policy already includes a suitable and recognized sustainability filter to reduce sustainability risks. The identification of suitable investments to limit sustainability risks may also involve us using recognized rating agencies for product selection in asset management. The specific details are set out in the individual agreements.
Provided that we are able to identify companies with increased risk potential and exclude them from an investment, the remaining residual sustainability risks should only have a minor negative impact on the return and should not deviate significantly from the general market risk. Sustainability risks that are not recognizable to us in the identification process described above can have a significantly greater impact on returns.
No consideration of adverse effects of investment decisions on sustainability factors
Declaration on the non-consideration of adverse impacts on sustainability factors (Art. 7 Disclosure Regulation)
In accordance with Art. 7 (2) in conjunction with Art. Art. 4 para. 1 letter b) and Art. 4 para. 5 letter b) of the Disclosure Regulation, we are obliged to provide the following information:
Investment decisions can have a negative impact on so-called sustainability factors (environmental, social and employee concerns, respect for human rights, combating corruption and bribery).
In principle, we have a considerable interest in fulfilling our responsibility as a securities institution and helping to avoid such effects in the context of our investment decisions and recommendations. However, the implementation of the existing legal requirements is currently unreasonable due to the existing and impending bureaucratic framework conditions. Moreover, key legal issues are still unresolved.
To avoid legal disadvantages, we are therefore currently prevented from making a public statement to the effect that and in what way we consider adverse impacts on sustainability factors in our investment decisions or investment recommendations. We are therefore required to make a statement to the effect that we will not take these into account for the time being and until further clarification (Art. 4 (1) (b) and Art. 4 (5) (b) Disclosure Regulation).
An application of ecological or social characteristics within the meaning of Art. 8 Disclosure Regulation is not intended. Sustainable investments within the meaning of Art. 9 of the Disclosure Regulation are not intended.
However, we expressly declare that this approach does not change our willingness to contribute to a more sustainable, resource-efficient economy with the aim of reducing the risks and effects of climate change and other environmental or social grievances in particular.
Note pursuant to Art. 5 Disclosure Regulation
Sustainability risks are not included in the remuneration policy.
Note according to Art. 7 Taxonomy Regulation
„The investments underlying this financial product do not take into account the EU criteria for environmentally sustainable economic activities.“
