Important notes to the securities account transfer
If you would like to transfer all or part of your old securities account from another bank or broker within Europe to CapTrader after successfully opening a securities account with CapTrader, please log in to the Client Portal and follow our instructions on this page. If you have any questions regarding the transfer, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Securities to be transferred must be tradable at CapTrader, otherwise the transfer of these positions is not possible. To check the tradability please use our Securities search. If you find the value in the search it is tradable at CapTrader and therefore transferable.
Please ensure that your previous custodian also has a custody account transfer order. For more information, please refer to the previous section.
During the securities account transfer, access to your securities is restricted. Please ask the current securities account manager when the securities will be derecognized if you wish to trade positions during the transfer period. From the time of derecognition until the finalization of the securities account transfer, you will not be able to close any positions.
A transfer can only be made without a change of ownership, i.e. the owner(s) must be identical on the sending and receiving accounts.
CapTrader does not charge any fees during the transfer, however, the selling bank/broker may charge fees for the transfer.

Before you initiate a transfer, you should have information about your custodian handy. Information such as the custodian's name, location, account number, account registration/type will be helpful. Also, please have a physical or electronic statement ready.

Frequently asked questions about the Deposit transfer
Your purchase prices were not transferred by the previous broker?
You can enter your purchase prices yourself following the securities account transfer, should your previous broker not have supplied the data.
Select in the Account Management (Client Portal) please use the path >Reports > Tax documents > Position transfer (under the item "Cost basis") and enter the corresponding rates there.
How can I transfer securities to another securities account?
You want to transfer your CapTrader securities account or individual securities to another securities account?

Can I transfer penny stocks to my CapTrader account?
Pennystocks/PinkSheets cannot be transferred to CapTrader.
