With our FIX-CTCI solution you can log into either Trader Workstation (TWS) or IB Gateway at any time without any consequential effects. For example, you may want to use TWS for testing and run IB Gateway in the following to save system resources. Both access methods offer the same functions and features. Upgrades are done synchronously for both variants. The main difference is that IB Gateway uses a sleeker and less sophisticated graphical user interface (GUI) than TWS.
FIX-CTCI connection types
You can use only one connection type per account. Account types with multiple accounts, such as consultant accounts or institutional accounts, can use only one connection type for all accounts. Switching to a different connection type can take up to a week.
