Dow Jones Futures

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is one of the oldest share indices in the world and therefore probably the best known. Alongside the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq 100, the Dow Jones enjoys a high level of media attention and is regarded as one of the most important benchmark indices for both the US and international stock markets. With the Dow Jones Futures traders can hedge against price fluctuations in the index or profit from them with speculative investments.

What is the Dow Jones Future?

The E-mini Dow Jones Future (short: Dow Future) is a futures contract on the Dow Jones Industrial Average (usually called "Dow Jones"). The futures expire on the third Friday of each contract month and are traded for the next four expiration dates. The contract value is five USD per index point. The tick size is one index point, resulting in a tick value of five USD as well.

The futures are very liquid tradable and usually have a very low spread. The futures can be traded electronically via the CME almost around the clock.

Dow Jones Micro Futures

In addition to the E-Mini Futures, Micro Futures (Micro E-Mini Dow Jones Industrial Average) have been tradable for several years. The Micro contracts with the abbreviation MYM have a point value of only 0.50 USD and are therefore particularly suitable for private traders with smaller accounts.
