With a GDP of over 3.5 trillion euros in 2021, Germany is by far the largest economy in Europe. On the one hand, the German corporate landscape is known for a large number of successful medium-sized companies; on the other hand, many large German corporations are among the global market leaders, for example in the automotive industry, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, aviation, medical technology and more. In 2020, more than 400 companies were listed on the stock exchange in Germany. The most important of these are in one of the indices of the DAX family. The DAX was expanded from 30 to 40 stocks in September 2021. The MDAX is the second stock market league and also contains many companies of interest to investors, as do the SDAX (small caps) and the TecDAX (technology stocks). In this article, we present a small selection of German stocks.
