Finland is one of the most sparsely populated countries in Europe, with about 5.5 million inhabitants in an area similar to Germany. Along with the capital Helsinki, Espoo is one of Finland's largest cities. Located on the country's southern coast, the two metropolises are home to a large proportion of Finland's largest companies. Kone is one of the world's largest manufacturers of elevators and escalators. The company also offers automatic doors for buildings as well as maintenance services and modernization solutions for residential buildings. With a market capitalization of around 20 billion euros and an index weighting of ten percent, Kone, which is headquartered in Espoo, is one of the heavyweights in Finland's leading OMX 25 index. The Kone share is also a popular stock among dividend investors. The company has regularly distributed a portion of its profits for many years. The current dividend yield has risen to 4.3 percent due to the recent correction.

Another of Finland's largest companies is the financial company Sampo, whose headquarters are in Helsinki. In 2006, Sampo's banking division was sold to Danske Bank from Denmark for 4.4 billion euros. Since then, the company has focused mainly on business in the insurance sector. Sampo offers various insurance products, including life insurance, homeowner's insurance, homeowner's insurance, car insurance, accident insurance, liability insurance, and a number of other products. The Sampo share has weathered the overall market correction in the first half of 2022 relatively well and is currently only a few euros below its all-time high.

Nokia was one of the world's leading manufacturers of cell phones in the 1990s. However, with the advent of smartphones in the 2000s, the rapid rise was followed by an equally rapid decline and Nokia shareholders suffered massive share price losses. Over the last ten years, the company's focus has shifted and Nokia is now one of the largest network equipment suppliers in the world, supplying companies such as Deutsche Telekom. With demand expected to remain high over the next few years - partly due to the expansion of 5G - Nokia shares currently offer renewed potential.

The company's Consumer Solutions business is active in electricity and gas retailing, including the provision of billing and customer services, electricity and related value-added products, and digital services.

Neste is an oil company and a producer of renewable fuels and raw materials for the chemical and plastics industries in Finland. The company operates in four segments: Renewable Products, Oil Products, Marketing & Services and Other. The Renewable Products segment produces, markets, and sells renewable diesel, renewable aviation fuels and solutions, renewable solvents, and raw materials for bioplastics. The Petroleum Products segment produces, markets and sells diesel fuel, gasoline, aviation and marine fuels, and light and heavy fuel oils. In Marketing & Services, Neste markets and sells gasoline and oil products to private and industrial end customers through a network of around 1,000 service stations.
