Options on Russell 2000 Future

The Russell 2000 is also a frequently traded underlying among options traders. In addition to the index options, options on the index futures are available. You can find them via the Option Trader of the Trader Workstation by typing the symbol of the future (RTY) into the input field.

Russell 2000 Micro Futures

In recent years, the CME has created the opportunity for private traders with smaller accounts in particular to trade "real" futures by introducing a number of new micro futures. The Russell 2000 Micro Futures with the symbol "M2K" have a point value of USD 5, which is one tenth of the contract size of the E-mini futures. This also has an effect on the margin requirements, which in the case of Russell 2000 Micro Futures are only a few hundred USD.
