A busy trading floor with people working at computer stations and large electronic stock exchange boards displaying data overhead, including the latest figures for the DAX weekly outlook.

The battle for the psychological 25,000-point mark enters the next round. A cocktail of uncertainty stemming from doubts about the financing of the AI boom, interest rate fears, and political uncertainties in major European cities hangs over the Frankfurt stock exchange floor. ZEW index below expectations – loss of points after five consecutive increases

The ZEW index for the economic outlook for the next six months fell by 6.6 units to 28.1 points in October, marking the first time since five consecutive increases since last year, the Mannheim-based Center for European Economic Research (ZEW) announced on Tuesday. Economists surveyed by Reuters had expected a drop to 30.0 points.

Economic data calendar: Isolated impulses conceivable – Purchasing managers’ focus on both sides of the Atlantic

However, in a trading week that is relatively calm in terms of the economic calendar, investors should always keep a watchful eye on potential catalysts.

On Thursday, for example, the weekly initial applications for U.S. unemployment benefits will be in focus (14:30).

On Friday, the purchasing managers (S&P Global) for the manufacturing sector, services, and „overall“ for the Federal Republic of Germany will be released (09:30). The counterparts for the Eurozone (11:00) and the US side will follow at 15:45.

Report season in the USA continues to be watched closely: figures from Netflix and SpaceX expected

The increasingly fast pace of the reporting season in the US could provide important momentum. Today, for example, Netflix (ISIN: US64110L1061) and SpaceX (ISIN: US84615Q1031) will present their results for the current financial quarter. On Wednesday, Meta (ISIN: US30303M1027) and Tesla (ISIN: US88160R1014) will report, and on Friday American Express (ISIN: US0258161092).
