The oil price is likely to remain a major threat to the markets. Amid geopolitical risks, anxious eyes on the bond markets, and growing AI warnings, investors have struggled to find their footing in recent days. As long as the energy market follows the lead, the stock market barometer has little room to maneuver on its own rhythm. At the end of the trading week, investors face the sobering realization that the market still depends on the oil price to keep its momentum. However, investors are now hoping for a diplomatic solution between Iran and the United States.

GfK: Consumer sentiment receives a significant boost – US data rounds off trading week

The consumer sentiment (GfK Consumer Climate) in Germany had to take a significant hit in September. According to estimates, the consumer sentiment fell by 3.8 points to -30.6 points in October, while the (revised) figure for the previous month was -26.8 points. The decline was attributed to the rising propensity to save combined with a lowered expectation of income, it was said.

At the end of the week, investors are still awaiting orders for durable goods (14:30), which could send out cyclical impulses and thus monetary policy signals as well.
