Cash Secured Puts - Professional strategy for private investors with David Pieper | CapTrader Blog
Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could buy shares below their current price? And wouldn't it be brilliant if you could still make money if you were wrong in your assessment of the direction of the market? Cash Secured Puts, an options strategy that we present to you in theory and practice in this video, offer you these possibilities.
Cash secured puts are an option if you are optimistic about a share in the long term but do not want to buy it at the current price. In other words, you want to buy when the share price has fallen by a certain amount. In this case, traders who do not trade options will place a buy order with their broker at a limit price in the hope that the desired share will reach this limit price. If the share falls to this price level, the shares are booked to them without any further advantage. If the share runs away and the limit price is not reached, the shareholder is left out in the cold: he has not acquired the share and is left empty-handed.
A Cash Secured Put gives you an advantage in both scenarios: if the share falls to the desired price level, you not only receive the shares, you also collect a premium. If the share rises without you being able to buy it, you have at least collected a cash premium that you keep. Depending on the put option selected, the return on this premium is often much higher than the annual dividend of the underlying share.
In this video, David Pieper shows you the advantages of this income strategy, which has been tried and tested by professionals, in theory and practice, what is possible in the long term, and how to fix the strategy if it doesn't work.
