Stock trading largely takes place during regular exchange opening hours. However, particularly on days when companies release earnings before the market opens or after trading hours, market participants also frequently react immediately and trade stocks outside the standard trading session. React immediately to market-moving news and trade more than 10,000 US stocks and ETFs, US stock index futures and options, US Treasuries, global corporate bonds, and European government bonds whenever it suits you best.
Trade shares pre-market and post-market
In the U.S.A. in particular, it is not uncommon to observe strong price movements, which often take place as a result of the quarterly results published several times a year. If a company exceeds or falls short of the forecast figures for sales and earnings per share, investors usually react immediately and do not wait until the opening of regular stock market trading.
With CapTrader, even as a private investor or trader, you have the opportunity to have your orders executed off-exchange. In the US, for example, this is already possible from 02:00 to 09:50 (CET) during daylight saving time (US East Coast time 20:00 to 03:50).
Special features of off-exchange trading
Trading outside stock exchange opening hours is only recommended if there are special reasons for doing so. Note that pre- and post-trade liquidity is usually significantly lower, which can lead to higher spreads and greatly increased volatility.
