by Sandra Navidi is intended to provide us with a step-by-step guide to successful orientation in an uncertain world. In doing so, the author attempts to mix scientific findings with numerous case studies and her own experiences and to provide readers with a solid mental toolkit in times of digitalization, advancing globalization, pandemics and climate change.
Because upheavals will accompany our path one way or another, and in the end it is above all how we deal with them, how we react to them, that is decisive. Especially in the age of artificial intelligence, it is becoming increasingly important to work out one's own strengths and to think about one's personal and professional future in an evolving world.
Studies predict that up to 50 percent of existing jobs will be eliminated in the next few years due to automation and digitization. Of course, a whole range of new business models and jobs will also be created at the same time, but the majority of these newly created jobs will require completely different skills.

However, Sandra Navidi does not want to paint a horror scenario, but simply draw attention to the fact that it is a process that we cannot prevent. But we can learn to deal with it, to become involved in the best possible way and to actively shape our own future. Taking responsibility for oneself and one's own destiny is the first step, but for the author it doesn't stop there. Because that is only the cornerstone.
The Future-Proofed-Mindset is a generally valid and intentionally somewhat abstract concept of a few simple rules. In combination, these result in a solid strategy to become active in almost all areas and, above all, regardless of one's own situation.
Much of it is definitely already known and has been published several times, but the author tries to work through it again in her very own way. At its core, it is about positioning oneself and effective networking, about eternal learning and creative design at the same time. The goal is to establish oneself and one's own value for companies and society in a future-proof way. So that one keeps the reins in one's own hands and does not become the plaything of others.
"Artificial intelligence will fundamentally change our world. However, history shows that times of upheaval also bring great opportunities. We cannot stop the upheavals of technological progress, but it is in our hands to emerge from this development as winners. The best way to prepare for the future is to seize your opportunities and shape them yourself. The Future Proof Mindset shows them concretely how to do that."

She was inspired by various companions in her undoubtedly exciting life. One of them is Edmund Phelps. He argues that innovation by individuals is based on modernist values such as curiosity, imagination and creativity, and that overcoming uncertainty, challenges and resistance is a prerequisite for success and fulfillment. This leads him to conclude that it is important to ignite a passion for the new in people and inspire them to achieve greater things. This is exactly what Sandra Navidi has tried to put down on paper with her Future Proofed Mindset.
For me personally, there are a number of exciting works on this topic. This one by Sandra Navidi is definitely worth reading, but I prefer publications by the relevant experts in this field, whom she also quotes again and again in her book.
